Women think Men are too Manly?

Was tossed an interesting article from the Wall Street Journal the other day. Based on some statistics, apparently, men are becoming too manly. The study seems to point out that the more wealthy a society is, the more likely their women are to choose a mate that has less of the “manly” features we have worked so hard to groom. Granted, the researchers only interviewed white candidates in order to control the experiment, but they found that women from Mexico, Argentina, and Bulgaria, countries that had low marks on the health care index, were more likely to find men with more “manly” characteristics attractive. On a side note, I find it interesting that Mexicans, and Argentinians are being considered white here, but hey I guess they are in the name of science!

Now we all know what makes a man manly right? Well in case you don’t, the article points it out clearly. Thick eyebrows, broad chin, and a mean scowl with squinty eyes…missing anything??? I think that about covers  it in all cultures globally.  All in all, its a pretty interesting read, and should have us manly-men boarding flights to the poorest countries around to pick up their hot girls, but that is of course if the ladies who composed this study don’t all change their minds  randomly for some irrational reason thus discounting the entire study!

Now for some Chuck Norris:

New Predators Movie

Now if your old Skool like me, you remember the first predator movie with Arnie and Company. Over the top muscles, guns, and action. I love that movie. Now, if you were waiting for a sequel, not the AVP movies, but a pure Predator Movie, then wait no longer.  Robert Rodriguez is at the helm and his cast includes the likes of Laurence Fishburne and Adrien Brody. I’ll stop talking now:

New Iron Man 2 Trailer

If your as much of a fan of comics as I am, no doubt you’ve seen Iron Man 1 and are eagerly anticipating Iron Man 2. Well, a new trailer has surfaced and some interesting goodies have been added. We see a little more onscreen time with Whiplash played by Mickey Rourke, and some awesome hand to hand with the Black Widow played by Gwyneth Paltrow. We also get to see Rhodes (Don Cheadle) in an unpainted suite (presumably War Machine suite without the paint job). We see them teaming up to destroy a whole pile of wannabees and its awesomeness!!! Did you see War Machines Guns!!!! Ok, enough, you probably haven’t read a word of this so I’ll stop talking. Video is below:

Microsoft Stepping their Game up…FINALLY

Update:

Yea, so about that whole stepping up their game thing…turns out its more of the same. Courier has been cancelled as we all tried not to believe. Way to go Microsoft, for killing dreams. C’mon Adam, your our last hope and we don’t want any more delays! Anything past November and all bets are off!

On another note I’ll go ahead and add the ExoPc “Slate” to this list…

Its 11.6 inches, slightly bigger than the iPad, and runs Windows 7 which should be quite useful for people who still need to get stuff done. What really drew me in was the interface. Love the WebOs reminiscent swipe-to-exit functionality there. I also think the app launcher is pretty neat as well. Full HD playback, camera, and Adobe Flash support don’t hurt the cause either.

Ok Guys,

I’ve got more tablet news. If you are still thinking about purchasing the iPad, or one of the other tablets out there so you can let everyone in the office know what a trend-setter and awesome guy (or gal) you are then pause a quick second before you open that wallet.

Remember Microsoft’s rumored tablet? No, not that HP thingy, the two screened one that had the awesome demo vid? Yeah, its called the Courier, and its really shaping up to be a great device to rival the best.

I’ve included a nice video from Engadget below.

Now a couple of comparison notes:

  • iPad has an actual pre-order date of March 12th and a shipping date of April 3rd, so its the first to actually materialize. Notion ink’s Adam and the Courier are still Q3 or Q4, whatever that means.
  • Adam will have two modes – one for reading and one for content viewing which should dramatically increase battery life. It should also be able to run Javascript and have full HD playback making it an ideal content consumption device.
  • Courier is smaller than both, but has two screens which could become interesting with game-play. Think Nintendo DS.  It uses the stylus heavily for better or for worse, but the UI is quite captivating. If Microsoft can deliver on its promises in the video below they may have a winner. No word on pricing, video playback quality or battery life as Microsoft hasn’t even confirmed its existence yet, but I know you can’t wait!
