Remember we wrote an article about Tony Hawk’s new video game called Ride? We barely do too, but its coming out soon, and we got a chance to check it out briefly.
To be honest, its one of those things where you know its a hot concept, but your iffy on real-life use. Don’t get us wrong, we think it’ll be tons of fun for the true gamer and/or skater – as well as the posers. However, it seemed little cumbersome… seems like it takes lots of activity to pull off tricks, and personally, I’d rather be in much more relaxed position whilst wasting time playing video games. Also, the board felt a little less sturdy then we would have liked. But to be fair, the board we checked out wasn’t production. Still, we just aren’t too sure we are willing to mack out $120.00 bucks for the bundle. We’ll probably step in when it gets below a hundred. Let us know how you feel in the comments section.
If you thought the PS3 was a bit bulky for your taste, you have company. That’s been a complaint for a while…that along with the hefty price tag. However, both have been addressed by Sony which will be offering a slim version of its PS3 in September, as well as a price cut of the 80 gig model of the original PS3. You can find more details over at Engadget. This is most-likely what the procrastinators have been waiting for. Time for some blue-ray goodness!
See, this is what I’m talking about. Its funny, cause I was just thinking how much I needed these goggles too! Infinity Ward certainly knows how to treat the consumer right! Those other games and exclusive packs really can’t compare to what we are looking at right now. I mean, seriously, they included fully functional night vision goggles. Who does that these days? There hasn’t been a decent toy in Cracker Jacks since I was in elementary, and to be honest…I had all but given up hope in a decent giveaway, and they release this! This is for all the fathers who will be scowled at, sneered at, beaten, and abused because for some reason you were not able to take the family to see fireworks for the 4th of July. Engadget has dug up a peculiar toy made by Sega. Its basically a projector that projects firework displays. The best part is that you can apparently program your own shows! Now that’s awesome. They did it for real this time folks. I am in awe and wonder at how awesome this is. Ever wonder what a real 50 ft. Gundam staring down at you with violent intentions looked like? Well now you can…if you go to Japan, or watch the clip below. The Gundam Statue was built to commemorate the cartoon’s 30 year history. For the fans, this is a replica of the classic RX-78-2. The RX-78-2 was the second of three Gundam prototypes created by the Earth Federation’s “V Project” according to wikia.
Yeah, so Kojima is up to his old tricks and has come out with yet another MGS game. If you check the E3 Video below you’ll see like 4 different Snakes. Must be Solid, Liquid, Gaseous, and…random other Snake. Now, I was confused about the storyline before, but now I’m really confused. I’m also not sure if this is playable on psp, or for the new PSP-go. Video below for your enjoyment!
Microsoft has this cool new attachment for the Xbox360 that will recognize the human frame, and mimic its every move, transmitting the data in-game. The result will be a controller-less gaming experience! Imagine, racing…with no physical steering wheel, just pretending ( you know, like you used to do in the mirror). Well now the mirror will respond to your every movement. True, Nintendo was first with the motion sensitive approach which everyone must give credit for…but this is kinda taking it to the next step. However, I’m from the old school and need something physical in my hands to let me know I’m still in reality! You can check video below:
Sony, not to be outdone…again, has finally moved its slow, heavy, corporate hands in protest, and has come up with a wand-like device. The 1-1 movement ratio is pretty impressive, but the controller looks so weird. Like something from an old sci-fi movie. It also changes colors (ooooh for emphasis). Yeah, its nice and all, but in my opinion too little too late…however the virtual world they have in the demo is kinda hot. Maybe they should play up that angle instead of arriving to the party late all the time!
Apparently, Tony Hawk and Activision are trying to set a new bar in the upcoming game: “Ride”. It is set to come with a unique controller – that controller being an actual skateboard…without the wheels. Personally, I think they should have kept the wheels, but no one listens to me anyway. If you guys loved COD4 Modern Warfare, then you your all in for a treat. The game is being developed by Infinity Ward, and the official trailer has just been released. You can check it out below. Its slated to be for PS3, XBox360, and PC for now.
Haven’t encountered a wolverine game that truly captures what it is to be wolverine, much less to look really good. X-Men Origins:Wolverine seems to do just that. Not only does it look great, but its based off the movie which normally is a bad thing. Guess times have changed! Check the video below:
